Facing Forty...or how I got off the couch and into life

Ok folks this is it! Today is the day I officially stare 40 in the face and say "MOVE OVER". I will not go kicking and screaming into what some call "middle age" because I feel as if my life is really just beginning. However my plan is to run up that mountain in the very best shape of my life and with the best (and funniest) attitude I can. So that in seven months I can say "I Did It" and have the biggest birthday blow-out you can imagine.

This is how it started...I really had two goals I wanted to achieve by 40. The first was to direct a major musical for a local community theater group. check The next was to run a marathon. I have said time and time again I was gonna do it but I haven't yet. So I decided that there was no time like now and there was no better way to do it than to declare my intentions to the world.

I will not feed your inner curiosity right now with my weight. Because, Lord knows, I need to lose it but this is not about that. This is about feeling better at 40 then 20 or 30. About not thinking my life is over because my children are getting older or because I am 40. I want to be in the best physical, mental, and spiritual shape of my life at 40. I know that I can do it.

I hope all of you that join me on this journey will find alot of humor (yeah my life is a comedy) and just a little inspiration from this blog and my journey. I may not post everyday or I might, I will however take you down the path with me as I am "FACING FORTY"
